标题: 求教：申请会计PHD需要很多数学知识吗？
各位好！我今年正在申请会计硕士，工作中对这块产生了兴趣。我在考虑读完会计硕士后是否申请一个PHD。我对corporate finance， financial analysis，corporate financial report
fraud这些方面比较感兴趣，不知道是不是真的要用到很多比较高深的数学呢？

我原来打过finance
PHD的主意，正好经历了PHD版独立出来的那段时间，曾经在Huston 的finance PHD的WL，收到另一排名约80-100的economic PHD，几经权衡还是继续工作了。。。

数学实在太烂，就是一般商科本科的水平。。。

Actually, most schools have some reuirements for math. But I really do not think accounting phd's use of math is that complicated if you focus on empirical work.

right, u don't need too much math to do accounting although they require caculas and algreba, it is quite easy. Don't be afraid.

如果做theory的话，还是不少数学。

I think the math requirement of accounting phd is below average level in business school. Maybe only higher than strategy and ob.

it depends on the school you are applying for. Some schools, such as stanford , are very demanding of math. But overall, I think the requirement of math for accounting PhD is not as high as for some other

hDs, such as Finance PhD concentrated in asset pricing.

Some schools do state that they have high requirement for math. But requirement is not a necessary condition to be a good accounting scholar. Do you really think Mary Barth's accounting standard and value relevance research need math?

其实你会发现，大家数学都挺烂的，但并不妨碍什么，如果野心不是很大的话。

很感谢大家这么积极的回复! asset pricing之类的肯定是没有能力考虑的，呵呵，我知道的查到的金融PHD很多都是有数学背景的，看看那些论文就知道了。国内金融教学差别太大了，当年要知道这样，本科应该先去学个数学，后面金融的路会宽很多，不然大多局限于“大势分析”了。
现在我对会计PHD的数学方面有了多一点的信心了。楼上各位看来都比较了解，以后还请不吝赐教。如果有哪位也对corporate finance， financial analysis，corporate financial report
