1. 12-08 gfwindy
(Notes: Often, modifying phrases in GMAT sentences are separated
from the noun or phrases being modified.

Diagnositic Test\Verbal Sample Question\SC\第46题
Researchers have found that individuals who have been
blind from birth, and who thus have never seen anyone gesture, nevertheless
make hand motions when speaking just as frequently and in virtually the same
way as sighted people do, and that they will gesture even when conversing
with another blind person.

3. 12-09, dollyshao,
660 (Q43, V38)
只有一道熟悉的题目,是GWD的,关于银河系的,里面有什么OF MIDDLE WAY AND
GWD25-Q4.

Answer: A

the center of …and of….)
FALLEN TO一个数字 AFTER HAVING REACHED一个数字IN THE EARLY WINTER。
(notes:
我在网上查了一下,一般的用法是something has fallen (a number) after reaching (another number)
For example: The company's stock has fallen 84 percent in the last year after reaching $122 in March 2000.
但网上也有用到after it reached 和 after it had reached.
所以我觉得该题的答案应该视具体情况在after it had reached..., after reaching... ,和after it reached..

5. 12-10, yo_ki,

Q?:HUMAN BEGAN WEARING SHOES DURING 5000 TO
6000 YEARS AGO, WHICH COINCIDENTED WITH....
因为which
Coincident
As verb: The production era coincidented with the
Industrial Revolution in the
from. 1870 to 1930.
As adj: The composition and inferred sources of Cenozoic
magmas in Trans-Pecos Texas changed abruptly between 32 and 28 Ma, coincident
with a fundamental change in stress regime.
9. 12-13, rfanrfan,
760 (Q50, V41)
10. 12-13, gflvyy,
1)考了just as...so 不知选的对否
(notes:
a filmmaker whose individual style and complete control over all elements of
production give a film its personal and unique stamp)
。。liken。。。 。。
(notes: liken sth to sth. For example: Most of the audience did not enjoy
the concert, likening it to the grinding of metal)

2) ...company introduces a technology iniative that says it
can greatly reduce corporation costs....
选项有saying it
can greatly reduce/saying that it is capable of reducing.../says it is capable
of ...
(Notes:
introduces a technology initiative and says that it can reduce…. 2.
initiative.
introduce….., saying that it can….. 2)says
3) Using ‘can’ is always
better than using ‘be capable of doing’.

A. with speeds much higher than is
B. with speeds that are much higher than are
C. at much higher speeds as are
D. at much higher speeds than that 是速度在比較,speeds是複數,應該用those
E. at speeds much higher than are 省略:at speeds (that are) much higher than speeds that are currently possible

19. 12-17, rainsun,
by simply shuffling your legs as you are walking in the water, all stingrays will do their best to get the way to go.
A, by simply shuffling your legs as you are walking in the water, all stingrays will do
B, while simply shuffling your legs, bla bla
C, with simply shuffling your legs ... bla bla
D, if you simply shuffling your legs .....
E, simply shuffling your legs as you are walking in the water, all stingrays wll try
A 有个BY 所以by simply shuffling your legs as you are walking in the water应该是修饰后面主句动词do..因为按我理解..A do B by..
A通过...来完成B 且by doing..有BECAUSE之意 或是通过什么方式 (PREP TEXT1笔记 当because, because of, by doing, due to, by+N. 首选because 次选 by doing..)
DO SB'S BEST TO DO..
ALL S will do their best to ... by simply shuffling your legs
E则 All S ,simply shuffling your legs, will try their best to do..
18. 12-17, nicky_yao198,
According to analysts, an alliance between three major personal computer companies and most of the nation’s largest local telephone companies would enable customers to receive internet data over regular telephone lines with speeds much higher than is currently possible.
A. with speeds much higher than is
B. with speeds that are much higher than are
C. at much higher speeds as are
D. at much higher speeds than that
E. at speeds much higher than are

Already doing the stingray shuffle or haven't quite heard of it? The "shuffle" is a method of walking along shallow beach water--shuffling your feet, kicking up sand--to warn stingrays that may be lurking on the sandy floor you're approaching. Although injuries from encounters with rays are relatively rare, a man in Florida almost lost his lower leg after stepping from his sailboat onto a stingray. He suffered a gash from the ray's tail and, a few days later, experienced what looked frighteningly similar to infections caused by "flesh eating" bacteria. While it wasn't the notorious streptococcal infection, it was another virulent bacteria, Vibrio damsela--known for causing stomach ills from eating raw shellfish and serious infections from seemingly minor accidents with fishhooks or fish cleaning.

1. Far from doing…, XX…
XX contributed to advancing the development of the radiology field.
XX made contributions to the field of radiology helping it to develop.
(Notes:
我本人认为contribute to 后应该跟名词(不能动名词), such as: He contributed to many magazines.
而且按照语法help sb. do sth.应该是helping it develop吧?
