(A) not only…but also连接对象不对称，but also之间的they多余。
对于Ａ有两个问题
（１）(A) not only were able to transform the gas into a solid, but they also created
PREP里不是一直强调 系动词可以与动词平行吗??为什么这里不平行了呢??
(2) 这个they是怎么多余呢?是因为加了they 后面变成了句子与前面不平行吗??依稀记得以前见过很多把代词插入but 与also 之间的用法...~~~
(B) not only…but also连接对象不对称，were able to transform与现在分词creating。
(C) 正确，not only to transform… but to create…
(D) not only…but also连接对象不对称，to transform与现在分词creating不对称。
(E) not only…but also连接对象不对称，but also之间的they were多余。
关于not only...but also 的用法还是不清楚，疑问如下：
大全987 354. In 1978 a national study found that not only had many contractors licensed by a self-policing private guild failed to pass qualifying exams, they in addition falsified their references.
(A) they in addition falsified their references
(B) they had their references falsified in addition
(C) but they had also falsified their references
(D) they had also falsified their references（C）
(E) but their references were falsified as well
想请教下~这里在but also 里面插入they had为什么就对了呢??

(A) not only…but also连接对象不对称，but also之间的they多余。
对于Ａ有两个问题

not only...but also...系动词是习惯性的放在not only前面。
除了倒装句，but also之间是不能加东西的：
Not only did they break into his office and steal his books, but they also tore up his manuscripts.
