B. A letter by Mark Twain, written in the same year of publication as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,
C. A letter by Mark Twain, written in the same year that The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was published,
D. Mark Twain wrote a letter in the same year as he published The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn that

答案是C，没有疑问。但是对OG中一点解释不太认同：Choices A and D incorrectly substitute as for that to introduce the relative clause.
as不是可以做关系代（副）词引导定语从句的吗？

举个例子:

这边的that是当成"同位结构从句"而非"定语从句"

如果你把as当成另一个ADV clause的引导词时, 那就不能修饰that了

the same sth as sth

如果在the same 后面用as的话, 要加名词, 而非句子.....

不过我在网路上倒是找不到这样的固定用法, 所以还请大家分头找找看

可是，LZM的书里有两个例句：
1. I read the same books as most young people do. (as=that)
2. The same professor as taught my father is teaching me now. (as=who)
这两句话as就是引导定语从句的啊～～

LZM的书里有这样的句子？真是不敢苟同。基本同意vincent 的讲法。the same as + noun.

一点小小的心得感想:

(1) 建议海蓝mm把标题改成 OG 174 as & that, 好吸引牛人解答
(2) 在这as问题上, 我翻了三本字典 (Webster's, Canadian concise Dic, Collins Cobuild Dic)
以及三个网路字典 ( Merrian-Webster, Dy. Eye, Cambridge Dictionaries Online ), 发现各家
说法也不同, 有的说可以当pronoun代表that, 有的则没说.....
我的感想是, 在语言学这门科学里, 本来就没有一定的真理, 这门科学本是累积数百年的前人
的经验语知识, 然而依旧存在着灰色地带.
就好比我自身的例子, 最近我问了一个关于similar to 的问题
(大全478: Like Byron at Missolonghai, Jack London.......)里面的like可否用similar to替换,
XDF在TOEFL的讲法可以, 在GMAT的讲法则不行; 另外 consider sth to be sth , 在TOEFL
对, 在GMAT则错.....
总结以上, 真的给我很深的感忾, 我原本抱着追求真理的态度打破沙锅问到底, 然而在英语
这东东实在无所谓的真理可寻, 唯有探索ETS的Preference, 才是一条路.....
至予as到底能不能代表that当从句引导词的这个问题, 我想我们还是听从OG的吧, 必竟我们
总不会能拿这字典去追问ETS的出题作者吧....

similar to(adj) , 应作補语用
ex. Byron is similar to Jackson ...

like(prep.)如作 "像" 解含比較意前後比較须同类更厳谨

consider sth. to be sth. <--correct but not concise
in GMAT , it's necessary not to have meaningless word in a sentence,such as being(but the meaning of the sentence should be the first considered)

这种在进行主语比较时补出谓语的情况算不算是the same...as...+句子呢?~~

可能还是要用语意判断，

according to the same rules as before 比较时间

用the same as要比较前后的东西
a) a letter by mark twain, written in the same year as the adventures of huckleberry finn were published, 看起来变成year比 the adventures，不合理
d) mark twain wrote a letter in the same year as he published the adventures of huckleberry finn that 看起来变成 wrote 比 published，我觉得没大错，而是后面接的句子错！

海蓝mm, 我现在都不太敢回答你的文题了, 因为太有挑战性, 每次没有一个小时我回答不出来(开玩笑的...)
在这边我本来要灌一篇as的九种用法, 但是那篇从网路上Download下来的文章正确性有待考证, 并且是繁体的, 在此我就不post上来, 以免误人子弟, 有兴趣的话再传讯习给我, 我用E-Mail发吧!!

首先我先离清几个问题:

在OG-174中, OG的解释是as不能用作that一样当定语从句之引导词
至于我说的the same Sth as Sth, 则用在同级比较上的句子里
至于XDF-S13-Q22, 海蓝mm你提到的问题, as在这边则用作状语从句的联接词, 用法是用作动作的比较, 后面接句子.
同样的用法可以看XDF-S12-Q27, (A)中虽然用as但是后面的动词用are, be动词表状态, 与as引导状语从句表动作是不同的.
