标题: I-Banking Career Option
I am a second year MBA student and very interested in pursuing a I-Banking career. My personal investment has grown from $5000 to $55000 in last 3 months, 1000% return. Please give me some suggestions on how to use my personal investment record to help me land a position in this tough environment. Thanks for your help!

FX trading? 200/400 leverage? large position? Of coz. that sounds great........but trust me. 3 months does not mean a lot.. if you can keep your return for 3 years, that will be damn good.

And if you believe your trading system, why go to IB??? you can make a veeeeeeeeeeeeery big money by yourself....

I only trade stocks and ETF, no margin. I believe that I can do better than most of investors, but I don't think that this kind return is sustainable. My dream is to work in a big firm and learn from more experienced investors.

IBs layoff so many traders recently...hard to get a job like that... I think you can try equity research.

anyway, your trading record won't help a lot, dude.

如果 你未来3月能将 50000 成长为50万,  我想找个equity  analyst 不难

it is a great achievement to grow your personal account with such a great % in such a volatile market.

However, such short-term performance (though itself is a great achievement for sure), is not enough to juestify your investment skills.  Given that most of the trading desks are cutting ppl or have frozen the headcount (same for equity research analyst position), this is just not a good time for freshman to break into the IB industry.  Be patient and wait for the recovery of financial market (may take years though).

Thanks for your responses. As I mentioned before, I don't think this kind of return is sustainable. However, I am confident that I can make an above average return. The question for me is how to use my record to land a job in this tough environment.
