今天又看到了OG91,对ETS的解释还是很是疑惑?Choices B and E, which replace A's prepositional phrase with clauses introduced by as, use auxiliary verbs that cannot properly be completed by any part of the verb phrase in the main clause: neither have ... did not begin nor did... did not begin is logically or grammatically sound.
如果是因为did不能表达否定的意思,即As A did, B didn't or A did, As B didn't这种结构不正确的话,那末这道题又如何解释呢?XDF的题。
Because young children do not organize their attention or perceptions systematically, like adults, they may notice and remember details that their elders ignore.
(A) like adults
(B) unlike an adult
(C) as adults
(D) as adults do
(E) as an adult
答案是D.恳请各位解答!
Because young children do not organize their attention or perceptions systematically, like adults, they may notice and remember details that their elders ignore.
(A) like adults
(B) unlike an adult
(C) as adults
(D) as adults do
(E) as an adult
如果不用as adults do就会产生歧义,究竟是象成年人那样organize......还是象成年人那样may notice and remember......。在此插入语中用了do就明确是跟前面的分句,反之则用as adults may.

这一点我明白,也知道OG91选like更好,但是这两道题的确是互相矛盾的,按照ETS的说法
,as adjults do中的do也不能表达do not organize的意思啊!
刚才仔细看了一下,明白了!
Like many self-taught artists, Perle Hessing did not begin to paint until she was well into middle age.
(A) Like
(B) As have
(C) Just as with
(D) Just like
(E) As did
需要表达的是相似性,所以说did没有办法表达did not的意思;而XDF的题因为是需要表达不同,所以as adults do不需要表达do not的含义!

谢谢大家!
这末看来,在as/like的选择的时候,还要考虑到表达的是相似性还是不同罗!
而且由此看来,like只能表达相似性(不管是肯定还是否定的),as既可以表达相似性,又可以表达相反!
还请大家解答!

对,个人认为斑竹说的很对.
我还是倾向于weiyuNN的说法:
B)助动词补出错误,后边是过去时。应当用did, 即E,但这里E也不对 E)请注意原句的黑体 like many self-taught artists.P did not begin to paint until she was well into middle age. 当用 As did表示只和until前的话平行对比,而和was无关;但是句子意思却要求反映这帮artists直到中年才开始绘画,这时不能补出2个不同的助动词,所以是A |

这个是正解,like只能表示相似,as sb do,sb do表示相似,as sb do,sb do not表示相反
并且like在句中表比较时,常会不清楚到底修饰其前面句子的宾语(如前面的句子没有宾语,则修饰主语),还是后面句子的主语。
同时,如果as短句中要与前面比较,应用do,如与后面比较,要用may
