79. The following appeared as part of a company memorandum.
“Adopting an official code of ethics regarding business practices may in the long run do our company more harm than good in the public eye. When one of our competitors received unfavorable publicity for violating its own code of ethics, it got more attention from the media than it would have if it had had no such code. Rather than adopt an official code of ethics, therefore, we should instead conduct a publicity campaign that stresses the importance of protecting the environment and assisting charitable organizations.”
Discuss how well reasoned... etc.

别的公司犯了错误我们不一定就会犯。

got more attention from the media 不等于就是more harm.

最后提出的conduct a publicity campaign 实际上和official code of ethics 没多大区别。

结论是instead conduct a publicity campaign that stresses the importance of protecting the environment and assisting charitable organizations

论据是（1） Adopting an official code of ethics -> do harm to publicity

（2）unfavorable publicity for violating its own code of ethics -> more attention

逻辑错误作者假设了 more attention from media -> better image in public eyes

提出观点不管是 adopt official code of ethics, conduct a publicity campaign of... 都应该是建立在more favorable attention from media才能够提升形象
