Of the 60 animals on a certain farm,2/3 are tither pigs or cows. how many of the animals are cows?
(1) The farm has more than twice as many cows as it has pigs
(2) The farm has more than 12 pigs.

Answer： C.. 我当时选A，对（1）的英文不甚懂

某农场有60只动物。其中2/3不是tither pig 就是 cow。问有多少是cow。

(1) The farm has more than twice as many cows as it has pigs

该农场牛的数量是猪的两倍多

(2) The farm has more than 12 pigs.

该农场有12只以上的猪

其实不管牛是猪的两倍还是猪是牛的两倍，单靠条件2是算不出牛的准确数字的，因为说的是more than 12

加上条件1，得出猪13头，牛27头

多谢您，可我还是不明白 2/3 either cow or pig. 那么 60*2/3=40不是其中的一个数吗？

2/3 either cow or pig

这个就是说60只动物里有40只是牛或者是猪，另外20只有可能就是猫猫狗狗等其他动物啦

所以想的时候把总数直接想成牛+猪=40就行啦

然后牛是猪的两倍，12只以上的猪，就只能是13和27啦，总数40

如果12只猪28只牛，就不满足条件2

如果14只猪26只牛，就不满足条件1

数量又只能是整数，所以就是13和27啦
