一道考过的题

答案为C，解释说因为in 1999若放在Act 之后则既有可能修饰Act,也有可能修饰passage,产生了歧义。但是C选项就没有这样的歧义，in 1999只能修饰passage了。

但是prep上的一道题的解释却让我很迷糊。

解释：(A) 正确，由and连接的两个并列的强调句，注意此处两个并列结构中的it不是形式主语，而是强调结构中的it。

(E) Katharine Graham’s becoming的表达方式不及直接用谓语动词的表达方式更简洁有效。

按照答案的解释，E的唯一的问题就是不太简洁，但是大家有没有注意到A选项的in 1963既可以修饰The Washington Post,也可以修饰KG became publisher? 还望大牛的解答！

很久没有来CD了，最近又对学习英语产生了一些兴趣，所以上来答答疑，就从这一题开始吧。

这一题的要点不在你说的时间状语放哪里，而在于which的非限定性修饰问题，如果把时间状语放在which前，如B所示，则which有修饰1999的嫌疑，但是按照名义理解， which应该理解为the passage，这样一种修饰不清的情况在GMAT里面是绝对不允许的，所以B不对。

eSpirit,你说的which就近指代的这个我是明白的，我只是对时间状语的修饰歧义有疑问。

in 1999放在Act 之后到底有没有可能产生歧义？如果A和C后面没有which句,而是就以in 1999结束了这句话，那么还要不要考虑歧义的问题？
