过去将来时吧, 我想不是虚拟语气
如果省掉的话, 时态就成了现在时了, 所以不能省啊

would have是perfect conditional tense，请查阅<<牛津实用英语语法>>English version P196,item220; P200,item223。此处在没有if clause时表示实际上未发生的行为。
D,E选项的them 指代不明。A,B violate parallel stucture. Please read the OG's explanation.

would have此处在没有if clause时表示实际上未发生的行为,即实际上人类无natural defenses吧

可是后面加no natural defenses，不就表示实际上有natural defenses against it了吗？

我认为是虚拟语气，与前面的might 保持语气上的一致。
