不管前者连接词是否为转折用词 , 后面有-ing分词就会被认为延伸前句

D is wrong because of "at the same time."
D的意思变成能够同时排出10000种化学物质。
B的意思是在带来方便的同时，排出10000种化学物质。

所以是修饰一个是向前句做修饰,一个修饰对象变成at the same time

But可以做连词也可以做副词。
A选中形式，but只能是副词，而but的副词意思是only，所以A不对。
所以LZ的理解有误。
个人理解，请NN指正。
题外话，CD发帖编辑不支持firefox真的很不方便~~~
