选B是ETS的偏好吧, 因为冒号前面说is well founded, 冒号自然表示具体说明, 后面用完成时have recovered与冒号前的状态对应的比较好(从语义上来看). 另外, 对于once...in choice B和after...in choice A, 我觉得在ETS的规律里面有这样一条: 动词表达的比名词好. 那么, B的表达就比A的可取了.
