这句话的结构是不是有问题啊， the chemical irritant 在句子中到底是什么成分，有哪个nn可以翻译一下这个句子

呵呵，这道题我也没想明白！会不会the chemical irritant 是修饰THE enzymes 的呢？

我觉得是 trying to metabolize the chemical irritant，呵呵

我觉着应该是the production of enzymes,后面that is ...也是修饰production嘛，the chemical..指的就是production吧
