Modern critics are amused by early scholars’ categorizing Tacitus’s Germania as an ethnographic treatise.
(A) scholars’ categorizing Tacitus’s Germania as
(B) scholars’ categorizing Tacitus’s Germania as if
(C) scholars, categorizing of Tacitus’s Germania as
(D) scholars who categorize Tacitus’s Germania as
(E) scholars who categorize Tacitus’s Germania if
答案是A我选D,critics不能asmubed by scholar吗? 在这amuse....as 有这种用法吗?

从逻辑上,Modern critics are amused by 一件事情。
而不是被scholars 所amused。

This is an execption for using 'sb's doing sth' as ETS doesn't really like this expression, anybody has the other examples?

Amuse:
These verbs refer to actions that provide pleasure, especially as a means of passing time. Amuse, the least specific, implies directing the attention away from serious matters:
be amused by sth. 更合适
