我认为是such....as to这个用法有问题, 只有so....as to。

我只了解such后面一般都不能放抽象名词.....，但是我似乎很难把握抽象名词和实意名词的区别，这里莫非degree程度是抽象名词？

和这个没关系，这里主要是和as to搭配成so....as to。
GMAT中表示太....以至于基本都是so.....that/as to
把so改成such都是错的。（我不能100％保证绝对这样，但是可以作为一个判断标准）
问一下版主so/such（假设such可以用的话）... as to的问题，
记得白勇的书说so...as to 可用于单一主谓结构中，逻辑主语为句子主语，表示主语可以执行as to后面的动作，那这个句子里的主语无疑是student，那不就是说student可以执行make it difficult to...所以就不合理了吗，就像4楼说的那样
