可是从整个句面意思上面说不通啊。

这里不是定语从句。是同位语从句，解释这个warning是什么。

即：California
                newt's
                display
                of
                its
                red
                underbelly 是一个清晰的警告，警告的内容是让捕食者忽略这个猎物。
