答案是E，但感觉根据平行应该是as those charge啊~在这里charge和charging有什么不同呢？

charging可以理解为修饰those。如果是as those charge的话应该为as those that charge,这个定语从句中that作为主语不能省略。当然题目的未划线部分more than three times as many independent institutions of higher education charge tuition and fees of under $8,000 ...确实省略了这个that。个人认为是GMAC出题不够严密。

到底是D还是E啊？？？

以前的贴说D 还有例证：用google搜出了bbc news上非常类似的用法：

“More than three times as many people are killed by lightning as by violence at schools.”

总结下来，题目和上面的例句的共同结构就是：

more than three times as many people do 1 as do 2

再次问本题到底选D还是E？

我选的是D，我认为本题补充后的结构是as those who charge，其中those who省略；E选项中为什么要用charging呢？

还请各位指教！
