标题: [E]OG-01,请指点!
1. The Wallerstein study indicates that even after a decade young men and women still experience some of the effects of a divorce occurring when a child.
A.occurring when a child
B.occurring when children
C.that occurred when a child
D.that occurred when they were children
E.that has occurred as each was a child
OG解释:Choice D is best. The phrasing a divorce that occurred when they were children correctly uses the relative clause that occurred to modify a divorce and includes a pronoun and verb (they were) that refer unambiguously to their antecedent, men and women. Choice A incorrectly introduces the when... phrase with occurring, thus illogically making divorce the grammatical referent of when a child; furthermore, the singular child does not agree with the plural men and women. B replaces child with children but otherwise fails to correct A's errors of structure and logic, and C corrects only the error created by occurring. Choice E includes an incorrect verb tense (has occurred) and wrongly replaces when with as. Also, each was does not properly refer to men and women.
我对于that occurred修饰divorce和occurring修饰divorce的区别理解不透彻,可OG没做太多解释,望请各位指点一下!谢谢!

that occurred when they were children中的when可不可以用as替换?when和as有何区别?

mindfree的解释:
"as and "when" are not the same. when using "as" the emphasis is that two thing happen at the same time. for "when", it is an adv. phrase telling you the time something happened. also, the verb is "as" can last, while that in "when" may not. try to tell the difference: i was walking down the street when ou called me; i was walking down the street as i talked to you.
谢谢!

这是前几天我问的一个问题.
以下是我自己结合各位牛牛的讲解及查阅了一些东东后的小结:
(希望对你有所帮助)
OG 84、69
as , when、at the time of:
when is less precise than as in characterizing a prolonged and gradual process such as aging
at the time of 从句表示的时间是一具体的时间是a brief, finite moment,
as 表示的是an extended period of time。
as: two situations which develop or change together. As I get older, I get more optimistic.
while: two actions happen at the same time. while you are reading the information, I am working.
when: refer to ages and periods of time. when I was a child, we in in London.
main clause action dependent clause action
1 while, as , when short long
2 while, as long long
3 (just) as, (just) when short short
explanation: short action: ring open; long action: walking, talking.
当从句的动作发生于主句动作之前,只能用when 引导这个从句,不可用as 或 while。
When you have finished your work, you may have a rest.

刘振民的语法书上解释:现在分词作定语时所表示的动作的发生时间要与谓语动词的时态相一致,但当两者发生的时间不一致时,分词不能取代定语从句。
请老师确定一下!
