不明白，earlier in the year为什么用了过去完成时had feared

先fear recession，然后是grow confidence。最后才reflect growing。

earlier in the year一般用过去式，在很多例子中都可以看到

但earlier in the year和had feared连用时，很多都用had feared，而不用feared

看起来很奇怪，可是GMAT就是这么用的
