Which指代cuts and sprains。in which做widespread swelling and stiffness immobilize the injured area until it has healed的地点状语，修饰整句话。

如果把这句话单独拿出来的话，我觉得放在句首更合适。In cuts and sprains widespread swelling and stiffness immobilize the injured area until it has healed.这样更好。

widespread swelling and stiffness immobilize the injured area in cuts and sprains 这句话中in cuts and sprains 有修饰the injured area 的歧义。
