four times as many Americans were killed as would 。。。这个句子，是不是有倒装？

as many as的比较对象是什么？虽然语感上来说，A肯定是最好的，但我找不到合适的主谓宾，还有合适的比较对象。。。

请帮忙分析一下，谢谢。

这题的主语是不是 four times as many Americans ，谓语是were killed，然后后面的是固定搭配的补充说明？

应该是省略了主语吧。

four times as many Americans were killed as (Americans) would later be killed on...

这道题，题干部分的" would later be killed..." 里的would在这里是什么意思呢？为什么我总觉得would有虚拟的语气在里面呢，但是这道题确并没有虚拟的意思啊～还请牛牛们指教！
