Rotman is regarded to be the best B-school in Canada. Once a Rotman man told me that Rotman takes only 1/10 MBA applicants and the average GMAT they have is 720 at least.
She/He must have something special. Rotman is a crazy school famous for its academic focus, including its master degree, even bachelor degree. Especially, Rotman treat students' transcripts of China unfairly, 85% = B. Actually, in most of the Canada schools, 85% means A. So, I don't think Rotman is wrong for strict requirement of GPA. Hi there,
I attended some information sessions of Rotman and got the offer (part-time) on this Thursday. I have the impression that because of the large pool of applicants (in 2002: 5:1 for fulltime and 2:1 for part-time) Rotman is strict for its academic requirement especially for Chinese applicants. Thanks Edwardcheng. But I asked this question to the admissions of UT, they told me applicants must get more than 85% in the last year of bachelor degree study, as well as master degree study if you got.

Hi there,
Well I am not very sure about that kinda "crap" requirement when I applied. Actually when I calculated my GPA, I haven't really calculated my GPA with that way. Anyway, I think what you can do is to make an extra letter explaining why your GPA is less than what they ask for. For example, that's because your university has an extremely low mark for ALL students and it is one of the top universities in your region. Something like that, I think that maybe will help.
Not 100% sure. Should include only the core courses. However, I suggest that you call the adm officer up and confirm accordingly. Actually according to a conversation I had with an adm officer of Rotman last week, I was informed that except for Beijing University for which they can accept 80 on average, all the rest should meet 85. But in terms of core or non-core, I am not veru sure. You need to figure it out by phoning the people.

hello Ed, thank you for your reply! 我觉得对最后一年85分的标准太可气了，最后一年除了论文就是找工作，哪还顾得上学习。第四年我只是随便选了几门科来凑够学分，三年级我的成绩还好。我在国内，我会发邮件去问。我们学校85是A，ROTMAN又不认！ 你知道对中国学生还有什么特殊的要求吗？还有，学校如何确定成绩的真违？
