i.e.是“即，就是”的意思

主语是goal ...句子主干是：

now that... a goal of ...is to do ...., a development(同位语接上)...

is carried in glass fibers rather than by electrical current是插入语，修饰的是data.

Now that so much data travels via light 是干啥的阿？now 在这里是引导句子的,这个句子里的主语是date, 谓语是travel,这样理解对吗？

还所有插入语怎么没有主语阿？感觉插入成分怪怪的

既然/因为很多数据是通过光来传输的。now是连词，意思是“因为”，that可省可不省。

还所有插入语怎么没有主语阿？感觉插入成分怪怪的

是挺特殊的，以前见到的插入语基本上是分词短语，介宾短语，或者主谓结构

i.e.是一个adv.可不看它

is carried in glass fibers rather than by electrical current这个插入语里，我想可能是把相同的主语省略了，也算是主谓结构的一种吧。
