The single-family house constructed by the Yana, a Native American people who lived in what is
now northern California, was conical in shape, its framework of poles overlaid with slabs of bark,
either cedar or pine, and banked with dirt to a height of three to four feet.

(A) banked with dirt to a height of
(B) banked with dirt as high as that of
(C) banked them with dirt to a height of
(D) was banked with dirt as high as
(E) was banked with dirt as high as that of

答案是A. 我选了D. 语法笔记上说, DE把banked和前面的was conical in shape并列起来, 逻辑意思错. 但我不明白, 做题的时候怎么就能看出来这样的语意有问题呢? 请NN帮忙解答.

那样说没错，但有更好的解释，就是bank在这里是"its framework"的谓语，所以必须跟"overlaid" parallel.

其实这题第一步就可以排除D和E。然后排除C，因为就算不知道bank with到底是怎么用的，也可以因为them指代不清排除C。然后B里面那个that属于莫名其妙多出来的。最后就剩下A对了。

这题是不是可以把 its framwork... 看作独立主格做伴随状语，所以动词用分词形式，排除D,E？

换句话说，语法笔记的意思是，was banked是个从句结构，只能和主句谓语平列。因而逻辑不通。

饿~..bank的熟词辟意吧查下字典就完了词汇问题不是思路过语法问题

不明白啊....为什么house就不能was banked呢??

还是as high as three to four feet的问题??

同问！dirt as high as 3 to 4 feet有没有问题啊？还是bank... to the height of 和be banked with dirt as high as ...的句意不同？

就是独立主格结构啊。。和前面的overlaid with 平行
