如果在句中的话，当然要两个破折号啊，类似逗号，把插入语和主句分开

如果在句末，当然只需要一个破折号拉

关于这个题目，思考了半天A错在哪里，看来关键还是the other infections,such as中“the"的问题，地道的英语表达来看，A的表达是错误的

楼上给的解释真不错，what从句和something 的解释让我茅塞顿开

不过对于the other 和such as 我倒没觉得有冲突，倒是the other会改变句意，如此题，用the other就说明除了smallpox以外所有的病都能控制住，而原题只是想表达，能控制住另外一些以前不可能控制的

我觉得PREP 对于本题A答案的解释有问题：它说the other的搭配不正确，但同样的情况却出现在P1-161题目中（句首未划线部分）：

Unlike the other major planets, Pluto has a highly eccentric orbit, which is thus closer to the Sun

than Neptune is for 20 years out of every 230-year cycle, even though it is commonly described as

the remotest planet in the solar system.

至于它解释说A答案错误的另一个理由，即what引导的名词性短语没有something 简洁，可是这里something加上它后面的修饰定语，其实并没有比what引导的名词性短语简洁啊？劳烦NN们指点迷津...

这里的句子结构，C项，是不是better control of such infections as measles and yaws 是作为something的同位语，完整的是 they had not previously considered better control of such infections as measles and yaws possible.是这样子领会句意吗？把pissible--control看成整体就看不懂句子。。。
