Choice C presents the wordy expression the collateral which is borrowed against by farmers to get through..., in which the passive verb creates an awkward and confusing construction. Choice E, the best answer, succinctly and clearly identifies the Declining values as the collateral against which farmers borrow and correctly uses the plural verb are. Collateral: 抵押品

同位语, 先行词抵押品指得是农民得工具和土地.

肯定是D了，没什么说的，后面一定是are，前面which引导非限定性定语从句修饰land

求问。。我做的也选的D答案是E。同位语应该和其修饰的主语指统一事物啊。。那么同位语的collateral和declining values怎么可能是同位关系呢？
