也就是believed that the cells either.........or...........（我怎么在这个宾语从句里找不到谓语！）太白了，自己。

在Berta & Ernst建立神经分泌概念之前，科学家认为细胞1) 要么分泌荷尔蒙，这样它们属于内分泌系统 2）要么传递电脉冲，这样它们属于神经系统。

secreted和conducted是并列谓语，开始还以为是定语，晕……
