GWD1-Q32: 比較同類,麻煩字
To develop more accurate population forecasts, demographers have to know a great deal more than now about the social and economic determinants of fertility.

这里也是个省略问题有疑惑.more than前后主语谓语不是都相同么？
也有说这里would have to know和后面的谓语不一致，一个是虚拟，一个是现在发生动作，所以要补出do.是这样么？
那主语一致不是也要省略么？

你是不是想的太复杂了？
你举的这两个例子都不是typical的比较啊，都是状语在比较， 不是主谓比较，或者宾语比较（这两种比较比较搞脑子哈）
第一句是两个状语平行， 当然是in xxx, as in yyy咯
第二个是 than now， 就把它当作固定搭配好拉， 就跟than expected, than anticipated 一样啊，
不知道你同意么

之前题目考点都是在主谓的比较上阿...

这里是跟现在的情况没错
如果没有跟than now 的话，句子应该这么写：
demographers will have to know ，
但因为跟现在的比较，所以过去的时态往后退一步， 所以成了would have

我查了一下朗文字典, a propotion of N當單數,複數都可以,不過比較經常當成單數使用.
回答前面有人問過的主詞an overwhelming proportion of women後面的動詞需不需要加S的問題.
就這題來講 都可以吧~~
朗文字典解釋 原文如下:
proportion
1 [C usually singular
also + plural verb British English]HMN
part of something
a part of a number or amount, considered in relation to the whole proportion of
The proportion of women graduates has increased in recent years.
Every parent is asked to contribute a proportion of the total cost

這題答案是D才對.原作給錯答案了. 社會的跟經濟的正確用法應該是social and economic
就這題答案而言,可以直接淘汰BCE。
