我选择了C，with the louisiana Purchase in 1803难道有问题？ doubling its size,应该指代主语the United States？

不知道错在那里

可是答案是E. 另外D虽然主位距离很远但语法上也并没有什么错误？

c 的it's指代不清？不如thecountry's明白，感觉D错在bring前面少了and?

C: doubling its size感觉象是double了louisiana的size。with并不算错，但在这里比不上in：用with时，主句是with后面东西的结果；用in时，主句是in后面东西的行为。比较下面两个句子就清楚了：With the purchase, US doubles the country's size; In the purchase, US acquire 828k sq miles.
D: doubling...和bringing之间缺了个and； for 4 cents an acre, acquire...这个倒装用得有点别扭。

double 可做形容词。表示being twice as great or as many <double the number of expected applicants>

这里more than doubling = more than twice as much as

我觉得E不对呀，E中的两个it指代都不一样了，第一个bought it 和线外的its指的不是同一个呀，肯定不对的。。

acquire是主句谓语成分，到E中变成了状语，重心改变，同时还添加了新动词，it指代不清，貌似只能指代purchase，逻辑不通

个人感觉the United States不能in Louisiana Purchase，只能with L P。中文和英文的区别。
