刘振民里说到：despite后面只能跟名词短语，如果名词短语后面还有长长的修饰，那么就应该用although之类引导从句来的替换。

one很少能指代抽象名词，以前碰到的对于GMAT里没有一个题是指代抽象名词的，都是指代前面名词短语的核心词或者名词类别。

B) 中，difference between ... from...错了，应为difference between ... and...；despite no （尽管没有） ...这种表达awkward, 一般用though + 否定。

Can I say that "the ones" here refers to " tradition sin Viking-Age Scandinavia", while "those" refers to traditions,but not necessarily to tradition sin Viking-Age Scandinavia ?

个人感觉the ones虽然不比those感觉妥当，但是A里的differ from不idiomatic吧。。。用这个把A去掉也就不需要担心the ones了。。。要是有those如果只要context对。。我一般会选those over the ones吧。。。。

而楼上说的the ones 指带traditions in viking-age scandinavia。。。就跟版主说的一样，，还真是很少见有用the ones指带这个的。。一般都是实物。。。for ex.
This watch is more accurate than the ones I had before. (the ones指带手表。。。实物。。。）
