答案：B

这题的B是现代分词作定语修饰experiments,但是有个问题，这题的时间是mid-1920s ,怎么会用investigating修饰而不是用that investigated 呢？

(A) their指代不清楚，可能是changes，也可能是conditions；

(D) 表达不清晰，可以理解为changes in… effects，也可以理解为changes in working conditions。

我知道是表主动，但是在过去时不能用investigating直接修饰前面的experiment,因为时态不一致。

doing可以修饰n在任何时态，不一定要是现在时，其他选项不合适

N+doing结构要求doing 的动作发生与主句谓语有同时性，否则不能使用n+doing结构

如：the boy who will come to see you is my son不等于the boy coming to see you is my son

另外有一题为证：OG10-1

A.occurring when a child
B.occurring when children
C.that occurred when a child
D.that occurred when they were children
E.that has occurred as each was a child

分词作后置定语用doing或done，表示主动或被动，与时态无关。

真的没听说过分词组定语的时代问题

另外即便你强调事态

这一题的时态也没什么问题

两个动作可以理解为是几乎同时的

N+doing结构要求doing 的动作发生与主句谓语有同时性，否则不能使用n+doing结构

现在分词表示持续性的动作，divorce不可能是持续的

n+doing只能还原成和主句同时间的或者是一般现在时，主句是过去时，根据意思判断该后置定语还原的定语从句也是过去时，所以选B没问题

这题我来稍微讲解一下吧
大背景是这样的，就像我们读一些中文，有些句子写的乱起八糟我们读两三个字就明白了，英文不是我们母语，这种语法题我们有时候句子读不出来就不敢判断，大多数人还是就一些标准化的语法点来解题的，区别只是语法点的积累程度多少而已，这是大陆学生的天生缺陷（其实也很好理解，读都读不出来了，就不要讲判断语法点了）

C可以直接排除没问题吧，错的太离谱了，for表示目的就不说了，后面that和最后的动词都不成句了
本体是局部修饰题，你看最后就可以了，未划线部分也没有it或者they和划线部分冲突，应该是指工作环境的变化对员工的影响，你看A只看局部好像环境的影响好像也说得通嘛，我们中文很多时候都这么说，但是有考点在这里，正确句意还是变化的影响，as to是regarding的意思，就近修饰，这里就变成"工作环境对工人的影响的变化"，很拗口啊当然我就这么说你可能也觉得听得懂，判断不出来

记住GMAT如果动词后连续两三个介宾结构合并在一起的时候错误率极高，除非固定搭配，介宾结构是很ambiguous的修饰语，D就是最明显的，是on performance调查了工作环境的效果的变化（错）还是调查了基于员工表现的工作环境的效果的变化（反正都错）

E是investigate the thing that effects changes读不出来啊完全不知道他是什么意思，用了what就不要用effect了，不然就redundant了
