C后面的more than doubling its size and bringing修饰的应该是828,000 square miles吧，但four cents an acre离得更近，不会造成修饰不清吗，那位牛人可以总结一下逻辑主语的问题。

我的理解是：the United States acquired 828,000 square miles for about four cents an acre 这个动作(的结果)导致 more than doubling its size，而不是828,000 square miles 导致的。

分词做状语修饰前面的acquire，不是修饰four cents an acre

doubling和bringing是伴随状语的成分，修饰前半句，并不是分词作后置定语修饰four cents an acre,注意more than doubling前有一个逗号，是分词作伴随状语的标志

再请教个问题，C中把原句里的in the Louisiana Purchase of 1803改成了the Louisiana Purchase in 1803，不是说不要轻易改掉原文的介词么，of 1803改成in 1803没问题么？没有任何改变原句的意思么？请教各位NN。谢谢。。
