(E) lower than they were 这个D除了lower不对外，这种省略有什么不好？

逻辑上都可以吧，不补出怎么知道是比较那个

我想请问这里的less为什么不能是修饰2.8percent呢？如果是修饰2.8percent的话，那么lower可不可以修饰。因为og黄100题中，使用lower修饰前面的income的。这两个题又有什么区别呢？

数字一定是less，不过这不是重点，重点是A中的they did非常重要，这叫助动词(did)习惯性补出原则。
举例：
I can do it better than you can

用slightly less than修饰前面的整个句子Employment costs rose，与前面的整个句子相比较，所以用did 来代替rose。

（从Mahatten GMAT上看来的）有两个原因可以说明是修饰前面的两个句子，而不可能修饰2.8 percent：第一，always 遵照原句的意思，除非原句错了，需要修改；第二，由于rose 2.8 percent，可以说明这12months 比之前的一年是增加了，所以就不可能lower than 前一年的，只能说这12months增加的没有那么多。如果本题是修饰2.8 percent 的话，选项E就是对的。

og100 明显是在修饰an annual per capita income of $111这个名词，这里是两个名词进行比较，改成一句话就是An annual per capita income of $111 is lower than that of the most impoverished countries of the world.
