对于B OG的解释却说:the modifying phrase has no referent.这里是不是既可以指代fetal heartbeats又可以指代
pregnancy 所以说没有指代？

D，这个using 分词短语用的怎么不对啊?

基本上，-ing短语放在句尾是修饰邻近的动词的，所以using a Doppler ultrasound
device修饰的是be detected，逻辑主语是所修饰动词的逻辑主语。

B中分词短语using a Doppler ultrasound
device逻辑主语是fetal heartbeat，fetal heartbeat不能using...所以错误

D中using a Doppler ultrasound
device应该跟在它所修饰的名词后面，即By the twelfth week of pregnancy, fetal heartbeats can be detected by a physician using a Doppler ultrasound device

D中的using逻辑主语是heartbeats,逻辑错误。。

只能说fetal heartbeats that are used xxxx by a physcian can be detected..

不是这个意思，using a Doppler ultrasound device放在by前面，而它前面又没有名词就只能做状语了，但是逻辑意思不对。它应该做名词physician的定语
