Inflation has made many Americans reevaluate their assumptions about the future, they still expect to live better than their parents did, （but not so well as they once thought they could。）
括号内的句子结构有两个疑问
1。NOT SO WELL AS ...是不是比较
2。THEY COULD 省了何种成分，为何能够省？
