因为doubling 是一个分词，需要有使动者，而这里没有，这里只是要陈述一个事实。

SC 中有一个用doubling 正确的句子，OG/SC 49:

The cameras of the Voyager II spacecraft detected six small, previously unseen moons circling Uranus,doubling to twelve the number of satellites now known to orbit the distant planet.

这里的doubling 是正确的因为：
1. doubling to ... 作结果状语，放在句子后部。
2. doubling 的使动者使前面整个句子的意思 ->“detection"

注意，结果状语从句可以修饰前面整个句子，而此题中的其他选项用which,则不可以。
