啊，我的OG上答案是D啊，你是哪里看到应该选C？OG上解释C的话，they有歧义，可以指代games，也可以指代states。

句子是因果关系，选项D的for在这里是表示原因。A不用in that的话，OG解释是已经不常用，而且不如for一个词来的简洁。楼主拿到的OG没有解释吗？那样的话要更新你的OG了。

应该是D. For就是 in that, 原因的意思。C选项中When在这里意思错误，同时 they指代不清，可以是说the games, 或者是states.

选择D因为for 比in that 简练。但是看到because 和 in that的时候一般用in that比较多

前后两个分句能看出因果关系，因此for=because
