According to promotional material published by the city of Springfield, more tourists stay in hotels in Springfield than stay in the neighboring city of Harristown. A brochure from the largest hotel in Harristown claims that more tourists stay in that hotel than stay in the Royal Arms Hotel in Springfield. If both of these sources are accurate, however, the county’s “Report on Tourism” must be in error in indicating that _______.

A. more tourists stay in hotel accommodations in Harristown than stay in the Royal Arms Hotel

正确答案为：B

文章中说了两种说法都对，但是要是选B感觉就矛盾啊，因为报道中说在S地住的游客比H地的多，要是加上答案B的话就可以理解为：在S第RA旅店住的游客比H地住的游客多。但是A brochure中又说了RA中的游客不如H地的最大酒店住的游客多，这不是矛盾吗？？

其实是数学问题.

总人数: S>H

单个HOTE L 人数, S 中的individual hotel Royal Arms Hotel < H 中 largest hotel ,

要两个都成立,

单位X数量 = 总量.....

单位人数少, 那么要使总量多, 所以, 数量要多, 就是说, S 中除了R 至少还有别的酒店.

ONLY X ---选B

如果H的说的对的话~那么连H的某一个酒店都能比上 S 的唯一的一个酒店~那S 哪里能得出真实的结论说 S 城市的比 H城市的高？ NN 能解答下么。。谢谢

事实一：S地酒店>H地酒店
事实二：H最大酒店>S地RAH酒店
如果RAH是S地唯一酒店，S的唯一酒店都不如H了，事实一怎么成立？况且H地未必也只有一间酒店。

这道题楼上都答错了。
原因如下：
A:正确
B:肯定错误
C:有可能对，也有可能错，不一定。
D:有可能对，也有可能错，不一定。
E:有可能对，也有可能错，不一定。

而题目问的是：Must be in error,就是肯定错误的选项。所以，非B莫属。

关键就在于题目问的是must be error...

1.S＞H
2.H的某hotel＞S的RA hotel

1和2都是对的，问下列哪个是【错的】

B：RA是S的唯一一个hotel → 使得结论1出错 → Bmust be error,却是正确答案

住在S的人比H的多，而住在H的A酒店的人比住在S的RA酒店的人多。
如果那个旅游报告说：S只有一个RA酒店，那么，以上的“住在H的A酒店的人比住在S的RA酒店的人多”就可以推出“住S的比住H的人少”，所以不对。
这个题目相当于削弱原文，因为空格之前说了否定词error。当然也可以认为是取非加强

第N次看到这道题，又看到一个让人抓头的句子：
more tourists stay in hotels in Springfield than stay in the neighboring city of Harristown

more tourists stay in hotels (in Springfield) than stay (in the neighboring city of Harristown)
是我有毛病吗？还是真的有歧义，第一次读出来。

S的整体旅客数量是要大于R的，尽管可能有个别hotel旅客数量小于R，但是只要S有不止一家hotel就行啦，所以选B~
