我个人认为，这题有点儿特殊。不能光考虑not... but...平行，否则，明显没有答案。所以对这个题，显然不能再死抠这个点。

我就不详尽地分析了。

但是显然：

C不通顺，宾语从句的主语是mind还是it？很不清楚。错。

D还敢用it being，E还敢用one's being？错！

A呢？相比to do，as a way of doing不简洁。不光不简洁，而且这种表达，容易误解为but后面是与主句平行。所以错。

B这种表达虽然在GMAT中不常见，但还是很好理解的。此处其实不是not... but...之类的问题。but在这里就是个简单的转折作用，所以根本不要考虑not... but...的平行问题。but可不可以用来连接be动词和实意动词间的转折呢？当然可以了，所以就这么简单。而且B的表达中，没有逗号，从句的主语就是一个mind，简洁，没有歧意。所以就是它了。
