In choices A and B, rates of is incorrect; when rates means "prices charged," it should be followed by for.

以前有人讨论过,不过我感觉好象不完整.
ETS对rate for 的解释是:when rates means "prices charged," it should be followed by for.

但实际上ETS在其他的用法都有背于他自己的解释:
比如:

如果按照ETS在OG上的解释,对上诉在阅读中rate for的用法根本就是搬石头砸自己的脚.

rate for 和 rate of 的区别什么?

好象有人问过了.....

呵.......

自己在支持一下:

rate 可以表示 ”费用“（prices charged）
e.g.
Some hotels offer special rates for children.
做费用时用for 表示费用的对象.

我想是不是这么理解:

其实固定搭配应该是 the rate of
在此,of 后面的名词修饰rate
比如:the rate of unemployment

而for指代对象，其实也就是如果后面是for，那么这个rate也就有了固定了意思了．无须for后面的对象来解释．

这样对吗？

还请多指教呀？
