这题答案选D，但是D中for using 的用法不是错误的吗？而且我也没看出A错在哪？

A) either using or doing 这样才对称

关于for/to 的用法个人一点意见当表示动词的目的时用to 这里for 跟的是preference 其实我觉得跟of 是比较合适的但是相比而言 either的对称问题should be put priority

AGREEMENT 动词单复数错!

PARALLELISM - either..or 错!

DICTION - a preference of 错!

一味认为for doing就是绝对错的是有危险的, 请看OG例子:

84. Under the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Environmental Protection Agency is required either to approve individual state plans for controlling the discharge of wastes into underground water or to enforce its own plan for states without adequate regulations.

请注意未划线红色字部分,你能说这是绝对错误的吗?

恰恰相反,因为前面是plan名词,这里用for doing的介宾短语比动作性更强的不定式更为合适.
