except 只能跟in而不能跟for 么，烦请解疑

Mauritius was a British colony for almost 200 years, excepting for the domains of administration and teaching, the English language was never really spoken on the island.

B. except in

C. but except in

D. but excepting for

因为in是跟the domains走

那如果把teaching english 提前，那么就要用for 了么？

EXCEPT + 作用: 排除作用「除….之外」

+介(介係詞跟後面的名詞走): 用於非同類事物，兩者完全是兩回事。當想要講大部分的情況是這樣，除了某些例外。except for = other than

如果更動teaching位置因為in the domains of administration and teaching

a of (b and C) 還是介係詞in
