我知道答案，也看到之前很多前辈讨论了这道题，我的不解还是关于D，有人说是"非限定从句"，"非限定同位"，"同位语"等等；
我的问题是
1.在During a hundred years, a period beginning in 1788,中，
",a period beginning in 1788,"这个成分看作"独立主格"可以么，或者是看作普通的"插入语"可以么，
总觉得这么修饰a hundred years没什么问题；
2.我认为就算是非限定或者同位结构，也不会有什么歧异啊，就是像这样，
During a hundred years, 修饰100年的成分, England exiled some 160,000 criminals to Australia.
怎么看，也看不出什么问题啊；
3.到底该怎么借读解释中的这两句话呢，

是说"能(像E那样)用beginning直接限制years就不该分开用两个部分表示，所以错"，这么理解对么？

是说"100年与a period beginning in 1788不等价,所以不可以把前者定义为后者"，对么，可为什么一定要等价呢？
“,a period beginning in 1788,”只是用两个逗号隔开，单纯起到插入、修饰的作用不可以么？

个人感觉 a period of 是一个习惯用法，这可能就是所谓的awkward and unidiomatic的解释吧。
