就是因为CD没有of直接就排除了，这里是rotates independently of （Earth’s outer layers ）and more quickly than Earth’s outer layers 的省略形式，很完美的并列。至于E，discovery that后面要跟个句子吧，可是MM看这里， is responsible 是主句的谓语，that从句里就只有一个，名字加一个分词词组。

这题我是这么看的。
首先我们看主语是the discovery(单数），所以谓语是be responsibe for ,应该用单数。
所以CD错误。。
再看A。。一看主语，谓语，都再，而且study of ...and(study ) of 是并列的。。
看E，如果用了现在分词修饰the core，那么is responsilbe 就修饰了宾语从句了，而真正的主语没有了谓语。。
B：and前面有逗号，错误。。
我觉得E主要问题是在：.
