In my opinion, most business researches, or even most social science researches, are not supposed to contribute to "国家繁荣、社会发
展、技术进步、企业利润 etc". The main purpose of those studies is to explain social phenomena, especially the causality hidden in those phenomena. Methodologies, whether intensive in mathematics or not, are used to ensure the rigor of your explanation.

I agree that 没有问题和思想，单纯的模型和技巧在技术创新研究甚至是管理学研究中没有意义。 Research question and your poposed answer are the most important part in a paper.

我没什么研究的经验。来凑凑热闹 :-)。

我很赞同birdxxx的观点。同时我觉得你的研究领域，技术创新研究，对中国的发展应该是很有用的。要实现Made in China而为Designed in China，任重道远啊:-)。前两天刚看了一篇Times上的文章，提出科学发明是可以作为一种产品，engineering 出来的。很受启发。

说不好你的研究工作哪天被用作改革教育系统的依据。怎么会没有意义呢？
