Became a CMA!

I just went through the formalities for becoming a CMA and would like to share with you on the processes.

1. Passed 4-part CMA exam. This is quite a long peirod for me since probably July 2006 to Feb 2008. But I believe if you have the accounrting or economy background and have no ambitious for getting the scholarship, three to six months will be good enough to pass all these 4 parts exams for a typical Chinese --He he~~ Chinese is really good at exams!

2. Sign your experience declaration forms which will be enclosed with the letter from ICMA for the part 4 exam scoring results and mail to ICMA

3. Provide your transcrips for the deploma and certificate of graduation. Simply, you can just go to your graduation school and ask for the sealed English transcrips. You have no need to follow the instruction on the website to have your education backgrounds evaluated by the endorsed institutions.

Congratulations!

I have also heard someone managed to pass all 4 parts within half a year, purely on a part-time basis. Even more amazingly, he just relied on the free materials posted on various online forums, without attending any lessons, or purchasing any books.

That's really incredible, even taking into consideration of his accounting background.

Similar to LZ, I also spent more than a year on it. I shelled out big money on study materials too, fortunately got reimbursed from the company.

May I ask what job/ position you hold now? As I am most worried about the work experience requirement...Right not, I haven't even interned; their web site clearly states that not any accounting job will do...so it would be extremely helpful if you could tell me which kinds of jobs would count thx~

is there anyone can help to provide this information? I would like to know what job/position is entitled for CMA application?

full time management position in accounting department for 2 years.

btw, if you took the CPA exam, you will understand that CMA is nothing.

also, argument about exams is meaningless.  if you wanna get the certificate, just do it.

Totally agree.  CMA is nothing compared to CPA, no wonder why IMA is losing market in US and the rest of the world, except in mainland China.

"except in mainland China"  RIGHT! haha~

management position in accounting department" only means in "accounting department" rather than "the real management"。
