Four best business plans selected for 21st Century China-UK Entrepreneurship Competition final |

LANCACSTER, BRITAIN, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Four best business plans including one from China have been selected for the final of the 21st Century China-UK Entrepreneurship Competition scheduled to take place in London in late June. The four was selected among the eight business proposals short-listed for the semifinal of the competition held here on Friday by a six-member panel of competition judges after the panel reviewed the presentations of the eight proposals -- two from China and six from Britain. David Brown, director of the Lancaster China Management Center of Lancaster University, the host of the semi-final, announced the semi-final results on behalf of the panel. The four for the final of the competition, an important competition for those with ideas to develop business between China and Britain, include one from China and three from Britain. A beauty treatment technology developed by Chongqing Dazzle Technology LTD of Tsinghua University of China known as "intense pulsed light system" was on the final list. The system uses light with high energy and broad wavelength to breakdown pigmentations and boost collagen production restoring a more youthful appearance without downtime and side effects. The other three semi-final winners from Britain are: -- Solutions for Power Semiconductors and Controllers in Renewable Energy systems, developed by Power Silicon Technology LTD from the Cambridge University, a spin-out company aiming at producing carbon reduction innovations and energy saving solutions for electrical energy conversions with power semiconductor devices and controls. The lead product is Active Voltage Controller which is a semiconductor device for medium to high voltage applications. -- Solar Keymark, a solar panel certification scheme, developed by the Swansea University, to build an e-business solution for low carbon technology, providing solar key mark Chinese solar panels to British businesses via an e-business solution. -- Radio Frequency Identification Devices (RFID) developed by Radii Technology LTD from Imperial College London. The device known as "iLock", a security tag, which significantly improves security within this market whilst affording re-programmability and can be used again and again, reducing waste on developing moretags. The 21st Century China-UK Entrepreneurship Competition was organized by the China Innovation and Development Association, UK and the British Society of Chinese Entrepreneurs, for individual Chinese students or teams of Chinese students from around the world (though mostly in Britain) to present their business plans. The competition was first launched in December last year and will be held every year now onward. |
