答案B。但我困惑的是: 前面的they/their后文章最后的their应该是不同的指代吧，但他们位于主/分句中，就是说ETS可以接受这种主分句中的代词不同指代？

请教大家。

最后的their是指代 many different ethnic groups

我觉得这是不一样的理解吧！

因为who引导的定语从句就是用来修饰ethnic groups。所以who中出现的their的范围就是指ethnic groups与前面的their已经没有关系了。也就是说定语从句已经锁定和限定了代词可以指代的范围。
