我觉得 after +简单名词，因该是不需要考虑逻辑主语的，但是第二题after后面可不是一个简单的名词。

after a career as the First Lady, she shattered, 后面的逻辑主语的要求与其说是after要求的，不如说是as the First Lady 和 she 要求的。

after +n的逻辑主语问题，要看前面的名词而定。
第一题：after 后面接了一个事件，句子主干再说这个事件之后的事情。主干的事情不一定是发出那个事件的人作的另一个事。并且这里release 是 n，反而避免了after releasing 的逻辑主语问题。( v-a-n原则也只是concise的一个部分，只是prefer)
第二题：after +名词明显是不完整的，缺少一个能和那个n 对应的发出者。这种情况下，要考虑after的逻辑主语问题。
总之，句子逻辑含义是解题的王道啦。
