The sides of a square region, measured to the nearest centimeters, are 6 centimeters long.  The least possible value of the actual area of the square region is

          A.     36.00 sq cm

          A.     36.00 sq cm

B.     35.00 sq cm

C.     33.75 sq cm

D.     30.25 sq cm

E.      25.00 sq cm

A certain circle in the xy-plane has its center at the origin.  If P is a point on the circle, what is the sum of the squares of the coordinates of P?

(1)     The radius of the circle is 4.

(2)     The sum of the coordinates of P is 0.

A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.

B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.

C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.

D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.

E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

What is the median number of employees assigned per project for the projects at Company Z?

(1)   25 percent of the projects at Company Z have 4 or more employees assigned to each project.

(2) 35 percent of the projects at Company Z have 2 or fewer employees assigned to each project.

C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.

D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.

E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient

One kilogram of a certain coffee blend consists of x kilogram of type I coffee and y kilogram of type II coffee.  The cost of the blend is C dollars per kilogram, where C = 6.5x + 8.5y.  Is x < 0.8?

(1)     y > 0.15

(2)     C 7.30(不明白为啥选B,如果C>7.30,那X不就可以任意取?)

Square Area: Because 6cm is a rounded number, therefore, teh actual side of the square is between 5.5 and 6.4. The least possible value would be 5.5*5.5=30.25 Therefore, the answer is D.

Circle: Becuase P is on circle with point "0"(or Origin) as center, let P (x,y). x^2 *y^2 = R^2. therefore,  1) is sufficient by itself. x^2 *y^2 = 4^2. 2) from the statement, you could only get x=-y, it is a long strairghtline, and R^2 could be value around the line. Therefore, it is not suficient. The Answer is A.

Employee Assignment: 1) you could not get any indication of median bigger or smaller than 4, or in what proportion, therefore, is not sufficient; 2). The same theory. 35% is not covering proportion of where median is, therefore, is not sufficient either.
Wheras. You can get from 1)+2) together, that 35% <= 2, and 25% >=4. The median would be in between of where 35% and 25% could cover. And what is in between of 2 and 4? The Answer is 3, and therefore, 1)+2) together is sufficient. Choose C.

Coffee question is a tricky one. You could easily get 1) is not sufficient by itself. where from 2), you could get an inequality.: 6.5x +8.5y>=7.3. You can view y as variance, get 6.5x>=7.3-8.5x, then x>=1.123-1.307y. Since x, y each must be greater than 0. Then you can x>=0.859. Therefore, greater than 0.8. Therefore, B is sufficient.
It is  a  nasty one, I don't think i could work it out in real exam by myself.
